实验步骤：将L-鸟氨酸盐酸盐7.5g溶于0.5mol / L氢氧化钠溶液89ml，加入无水硫酸铜5.55g，反应15min，加入6.15g无水碳酸钾和8.2ml氯甲酸苄基酯，反应过夜。 洗涤滤液，得到蓝色固体，然后用饱和的乙二胺四乙酸二钠溶液，第一次加热回流2小时，在室温下过夜，过滤并干燥，得到白色固体，产率83％。
