β-Pompilidotoxin (β-PMTX) is a toxin from the venom of the solitary wasp (Batozonellus maculifrons); it slows sodium channel inactivation and increases steady-state sodium currents in cells, used in in vitro studies to increase resurgent current in wild-type neurons and induce resurgent current in med neurons, and to modestly increase the decay time constant of currents in wild-type Purkinje cells.
